The National WWII Museum’s 2023 Annual Report

PUBLICATION DESIGN
2024

The National WWII Museum tells the story of the American experience in the war that changed the world—why it was fought, how it was won, and what it means today.

After working together on the design of the 2022 annual, the museum’s team reached out to collaborate on a new publication for 2023. With the opening of the Liberation Pavilion as the long-awaited, crowning achievement, this year marked the completion of the vision for the campus. As such, we designed the report to feel like a celebration and a conclusion—a sophisticated capstone to many years of care and effort by all involved.

The printed cover design depicts a clean-lined, modern illustration of the Liberation Pavilion in a handsome gold foil application on a rich, dark green background.

We printed the interior of the book with a 5-color process, using a metallic Pantone to continue the gold color from the cover throughout each and every page.

A system of varying geometric patterns set in the metallic Pantone brought a classic look and a level of polish to each layout.
